Featuring the largest long term residential medical center of its kind in the United States.   This is a Per Diem position-(12) hour shifts 7a-7:30p/7p-7:30a   In collaboration with the Nurse Manager for each unit that safe, appropriate and goal-directed care is provided in a consistent manner, to provide support and direction to nursing staff on the evening and night tours of duty and to ensure the implementation of the Nursing Department policies and procedures on the evening and night tours of duty.   Position Functions and responsibilities will include:   - Promotes Elizabeth Seton Children’s Mission and Core Values of Respecting and Embracing Diversity, Excellence, Collaboration, Innovation, Evolution, Growth and Change and Loving Relationships by bringing these values to life in the organization. - Perform clinical evaluations of residents for acute illness or change in status. - Provide medical services for residents who have chronic issues as needed - Order medications and ensure proper administration. - Provide emergency services for residents and staff as needed. - Assist Employee Health office with immunizations, PPD placement and reading, and staff assessments as needed. - Address abnormal laboratory results and document assessment and plans. - Order and arrange transfer of residents to acute care facilities as indicated, including provision of written consultation and telephone call to receiving ED. - Write thorough notes including history, physical exam, assessment, and plan for resident encounters. - Use electronic medical record for notes and orders. - Provide end-of-shift sign out to nursing and medical staff. - Make rounds to ensure that all residents are seen at least one time per shift. - In partnership with nurse supervisor, take active role in education, support, and guidance of staff. - Meet with parents, physicians, other staff, and/or administration as needed. - Maintain knowledge base through continuing professional education programs and provide documentation to medical staff office. - Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by supervisor, department director, and/or administration.

Position Summary: This is a salaried exempt managerial position that has discretion to make clinical decisions and has access to confidential employee and business information. The purpose of this position is to work both independently and in collaboration with the Nurse Managers and multidisciplinary teams to render safe, appropriate and goal-directed care. The Pediatrician will admit, evaluate, diagnose, and manage medically complex and fragile residents and ensure the implementation of and adherence to Medical Staff and relevant clinical and administrative policies and procedures. Purpose of Position   This is an Temporary position covering a leave of absense. In this role, the Physical Therapist staff position to provide evaluation, individual treatment to assigned residents. Including but not limited to:   - Fill and dispense prescriptions. - Provide consultation on all aspects of pharmacy services and medication information to staff, residents and families. - Profile patient orders to computer system. - Print accurate physicians’ order sheets and medication administration records. - Properly stores medications, chemicals and biologicals. - Assist Director in the ordering of medications, chemical and biologicals. - Assist in the maintenance of inventory by removing expired medications and rotating stock. - Inspect nursing units and reports problems to Pharmacy Director. - Package medication for use on the nursing units. - Pick up orders and deliver medications to the nursing units. - Participate in department quality improvement activities as indicated. - Compound medications using special formulations in pharmacy compounding book and keep records of compounded prescriptions. - Replenish floor stock medications for nursing units and other departments. - Assume responsibility for the operation of the department in the absence of the director. - Demonstrate knowledge of the pharmacy’s and Pediatric Center’s policies and procedures. - Verify and replace medication orders for medications provided from the night cabinet by the nursing supervisor when the pharmacy is closed. - Maintain a communication log on all consultations regarding medication orders and food-drug interactions. - Must have at least 45 hours of continuing education completed every 3 years.
