Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President of Marketing & Business Development is a senior executive leadership role responsible for driving strategic growth and expanding the organization’s footprint across key markets. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this position plays a critical role in identifying new business opportunities, cultivating strategic partnerships, and leading marketing initiatives that align with the organization’s mission and revenue goals.

 

Key responsibilities include the development and execution of integrated marketing strategies and campaigns aimed at attracting new residents, students, and families. The role also involves building and maintaining strong referral relationships with hospitals, physicians, and school districts, overseeing digital marketing efforts, and creating compelling promotional materials to support occupancy and growth objectives.

 

The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in healthcare management, particularly within community-based and long-term care sectors. Strong business acumen, proven success in revenue generation, and exceptional leadership and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Strategic Planning

  • Actively participate in ESC’s strategic planning initiatives and be accountable for achieving agreed-upon performance metrics.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to drive growth, including affiliations, acquisitions, and partnership opportunities.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify emerging trends, evaluate the competitive landscape, and uncover potential clients or expansion areas.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with new business partners and referral sources to expand reach and influence.
  • Present business growth plans, strategies, and progress updates to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.

 

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure all marketing and outreach activities comply with healthcare and education regulations, internal policies, and relevant industry standards.

 

Operational Leadership

  • Identify opportunities for new programs and services aligned with community and organizational needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare providers, school districts, referral sources, and strategic partners.
  • Collaborate with operational, clinical, and financial teams to ensure business development efforts align with organizational priorities.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of compelling proposals, presentations, and partnership materials.
  • Serve as a key representative of ESC in professional forums and advocacy efforts that support children and young adults with medically complex conditions.
  • Partner with the communications team to shape and execute branding, public relations, and digital marketing strategies that enhance ESC’s visibility and reputation.

 

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of business development professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Promote employee engagement through active listening, transparent communication, and inclusive decision-making.
  • Champion ESC’s Core Values in everyday leadership and team interactions.

 

Financial Stewardship

  • Ensure responsible and strategic allocation of resources to maximize return on investment.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to grow organizational revenue through innovative services, partnerships, and market expansion.
  • Contribute to the achievement of long-term financial goals through strategic growth and business development planning.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Marketing, or related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years in marketing and business development within long-term care, with progressively responsible leadership experience.
  • Deep knowledge of long-term care services, the skilled nursing industry, payer systems, and the admissions/discharge process.
  • Proven ability to drive organizational growth through strategic initiatives, acquisitions, and partnerships.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to motivate, inspire, and lead teams.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills; able to effectively convey ESC’s mission and value to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with experience using tools such as the balanced scorecard (customer service, financial, innovation/growth, performance improvement).
  • Experience with public speaking and delivering high-impact presentations.
  • Collaborative mindset with a commitment to building positive relationships with colleagues, residents, families, and community partners.

EMPLOYEE REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Must meet or exceed all health and safety requirements as set by the State Education Department (SED), New York Department of Health (NYDOH), and other applicable regulatory bodies.
  • Must meet general health requirements, including passing a medical and physical examination as required by the Center.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 35 pounds.
  • Must be capable of performing duties that may involve exposure to residents' blood or body fluids.
  • Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents in emergency situations.

Salary Range:

$190,000/Yr. To $225,000/Yr.
