POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Director of Education, the Clinical Educator will perform the functions of an educator, facilitator, change agent, leader, consultant and researcher in area of expertise. Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of education programs for all staff. Develops and implements staff development and continuing education programs.
The Clinical Educator will be responsible for working an on-site schedule with a minimum of 4 days/week that may include weekends.

- Conduct formal and informal needs assessment.
- Develop, implement and deliver clinical education programs based on identified needs and best practices. This may include creating training materials, delivering lectures, and conducting workshops.
- Evaluate and report the outcome of educational activities.
- Coordinate and facilitate Department of Nursing Orientation.
- Track and maintain records of orientation and continuing education programs as per departmental policy.
- Provide instruction and remedial education to staff.
- Assist in the development of educational calendar.
- Design performance checklists.
- Perform and document nursing department clinical competency checks.
- Strengthens a culture of evidence-based clinical practice, clinical inquiry and quality improvement.
- Designs and implements educational lesson plans; evaluation plans for programs and projects.
- Evaluate, report and keep malicious records of all educational activities and programs per departmental policy
- Demonstrates effective oral written communication; uses effective interpersonal skills; fosters critical thinking; links nurses to professional development and other relevant resources.
- Demonstrates proficiency in the use of technology such as Microsoft office software and various audio-visual equipment. Utilize all software in the development of educational materials.
- Serve as clinical resource to all staff members, residents and families.
- Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by your supervisor, department director, and/or administrator.
