Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the VP of Talent Management, this position will partner with key stakeholders to deliver on strategies focused on aligning the organization’s culture with its Mission, Vision and Values.  The role is accountable for (1) defining a strategy focused on employee learning and leadership development and performance management (2) improving team effectiveness processes and developing interventions to improve workplace collaboration, and (3) overseeing the organization’s process and efforts around employee engagement. Responsibilities will include assessing and diagnosing organizational needs and delivering best-in-class organizational development solutions that promote an engaged, high-performance culture that support Elizabeth Seton Children’s strategic vision.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promotes Elizabeth Seton Children’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure application with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Lead the design, development and execution of current and future Leadership and Professional Development programs. Define leadership and employee development capability models and ensure they remain current as company needs evolve.
  • Coach leaders on managing and developing their talent everyday
  • Proactively assess OE needs at the organization, division, team, and individual levels and partner with leadership to use the information to implement actions, programs, and processes to address those needs effectively and efficiently.
  • Integrate emerging research- and practice-based knowledge into the organization’s OE mindsets, strategies, and programs
  • Develop analytics and metrics to guide and drive future OE strategies, capabilities, and initiatives, ensuring that appropriate assessments are in place to manage the effectiveness of the OE program.
  • Lead internal teams in development and implementation of change initiatives that positively impact employee engagement.
  • Design, create, and facilitate development and performance improvement strategies that result in positive behavior change for people leaders and employees.
  • Collaborate with leaders to build talent and succession plans across the organization ensuring critical roles have top talent and providing opportunity for talent development.
  • Assess talent and pipeline risks and needs across the business in conjunction with the Leadership Team and ensure robust talent management
  • Lead and influence strategic talent and succession discussions to ensure a structured and objective approach to development and succession decisions
  • Provide coaching and support to key leaders in the development of dynamic teams that support succession and company growth needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support identifying, promoting, and retaining high performers in the organization at all levels
  • Direct the Performance Management and performance evaluation process that focuses employee's efforts on the achievement of business goals and attainment of requisite skills/competencies to achieve strategic goals.
  • Coach and support leaders to deliver regular, motivating performance and development coaching to their teams and employees.
  • Lead and serve as subject matter expert and principal advisor to the Core Values Team to embed Coe Values in ESC’s culture. Develop strategies and deliver programs that cultivate a positive work environment and optimize the engagement levels of employees
  • Administer the employee engagement survey process, including debriefing of results and corrective actions to address areas of opportunity and reinforce high engagement areas.
  • Perform system administration functions for OE systems. Manage vendor relationships; maintain system functionality aligned with ESC requirements; develop and deliver training to enable staff to effectively utilize systems.
  • Prepare and manage budget and adjust to support company requirements.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, or related field is required.
  • HR Certification (CHHR, PHR, SPHR, or SHRM SCP) preferred. 

Experience

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Organizational Development with at least 5-7 years in a management capacity.
  • Expertise of adult learning principles, organizational and leadership development best practices, and related theories with the demonstrated ability to translate it into practical application
  • Highly-motivated self-starter comfortable leading and managing teams through organizational effectiveness initiatives. Ability to facilitate senior level meetings and counsel leaders on talent management and development topics.
  • Must demonstrate outstanding judgment and sound business skills with the ability to establish a strong rapport with staff at all levels
  • Strong orientation to creating positive and collaborative work environments of diverse populations through effective employee engagement practices.
  • Experienced in leading cross-functional, cross-level teams
  • Extensive experience using individual talent and organizational capability assessment tools and diagnostic instruments.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading & designing organizational change initiatives
  • Previous experience working in healthcare with an understanding of the unique challenges that impact healthcare talent management
  • Strong communication, presentation/facilitation and interpersonal skills including experience presenting at a national level
  • Ability to write internal and external communications, as well as training material.
  • Working knowledge of latest social collaboration e-learning tools, systems, and technologies
  • Proficient using standard office software such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience in project management, with skills necessary to interpret what is needed for the success of a project and to create appropriate schedules for timely delivery
  • Very high level of time management skills, flexibility in competently juggling competing priorities and changing expectations. Highly organized in dealing with people and executing tasks, and a proven track record of producing results
  • Excellent consulting, problem solving, and analytical skills.

Employee Requirements:

  • Must meet or exceed all health standards and requirements for the position as established by NYDOH and all other regulatory agencies.
  • Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this Center which includes a medical and physical examination.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds.
  • Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents, if necessary.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Flexible hours required, including occasional evenings and weekends to support organizational initiatives
  • Will work in a well-lighted and ventilated area.
  • Will be subject to frequent interruptions.
  • May be asked to work beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary.

 

Salary Range:

$150,000.00/Yr. To $170,000.00/Yr.
