JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible to maintain as confidential patient information gained while performing duties.
  • Answer all inquiries on product availability and status of orders.
  • Adhere to all departmental Policies and Procedures.
  • Operates mechanical and electric materials handling equipment, according to established procedures in order to facilitate workflow.
  • Receives deliveries from external sources by receiving materials from trucks, messengers, mail or parcel service, sales reps, etc., and delivering said materials to Receiving and/or other departments.
  • Responds to emergency situations promptly and provides all supplies and equipment necessary to facilitate residents’ care.
  • Ascertains correct quantity of received goods by verifying packing slips against purchase orders, and clearly marking paperwork & packages when they were delivered in order to maintain correct quantity of goods needed by the Center and/or department.
  • Utilizes electronic purchasing system(s) to process, receive, inventory, and reorder supplies and equipment.
  • Records and maintains inventory levels on resident care units and delivers supplies to all areas as needed in a timely manner. Responds to supply requests from all departments.
  • Maintain clear, accurate records in Storeroom and Receiving using procedures specific to department policies.
  • Inspects all materials by checking for order quantity, expiration dates, damage, etc., and records every shipment using procedures specific to department policies.
  • Prepares any items to be shipped from the Center, or in cases of emergency immediate action using procedures specific to department policies.
  • Adheres to Safety and Infection Control procedures in order to provide a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Present a positive image through courteous, responsive, and professional service. Respond to customer in a helpful, service-oriented manner. Take corrective action for any concerns or problems expressed by customers.
  • Follow environmental safety practices and demonstrated proper lifting and handling materials.
  • May be assigned other related and/or unrelated duties in case of an emergency in order to maintain harmony in solving problems in matters affecting the department in particular, or the Center in general.
  • Attends scheduled in-service training programs.
  • Complete required continuous training and education, including department specifics requirements.
  • Performs other duties as requested and/or as needed.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Employee Requirements:

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently.
  • Must meet or exceed all health standards and requirements for the position as established by NYDOH and all other regulatory agencies.
  • Must meet the general health requirements set fourth by the policies of this Center, which includes a medical and physical examination.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of fifty (35) pounds.
  • Must be willing to work in environments which may be hot or cold. Some outdoor work may be required.
  • Perform tasks that may involve exposure to the resident’s blood/body fluids.
  • Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents, if necessary.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Will work in a well-lighted and ventilated area.
  • Will be subject to frequent interruptions.
  • May be asked to work beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary.

 

Experience

Experience:

  • 3 years in Warehousing/Receiving
