At our children’s center in Yonkers, NY, which is the largest of its kind in the US, we are continuously recognized as a 5-star, nationally acclaimed, post-acute facility for our unsurpassed clinical and rehabilitative services.

Elizabeth Seton Children’s Center is part the ESC family of organizations that serves more than 2,000 children with complex medical needs each year and also includes Elizabeth Seton Children’s School and Elizabeth Seton Children’s Rehabilitation Center.

ESC is pioneering the first ever facility designed to care for young adults with severe and chronic medical needs who have aged out of pediatric services. Our future young adult center will be located on our White Plains campus and is slated to open in 2027.

Reporting to the Administrator of the young adult center, the Chief Nursing Officer provides strategic and operational leadership to plan, organize and direct the daily operations in accordance with regulatory guidelines and standards.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Planning:

  • Participate in ESC Strategic Planning Committee in partnership with the Board of Directors and be accountable to meeting the agreed upon metrics for monitoring success.
  • Establish and implement an interdisciplinary vision that provides inventive, holistic care and education of unparalleled quality to transform the lives of young adults with medical complexities.

 

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Drive quality care by setting and upholding high standards of nursing practice, ensuring every young adult receives personalized, top-tier care in alignment with regulatory guidelines.

 

Operational Leadership:

  • In collaboration with Administrator and Chief Medical Officer, lead an interdisciplinary team in the development of an innovative care model that will include enhanced programming, clinical pathways and new staffing patterns for our young adult center.
  • Be a voice for nursing by representing ESC in professional nursing organizations and committees advocating for excellence for young adults with medically complex conditions, presenting and publishing best practices at state and national conferences.
  • Solve problems with compassion by addressing and resolving concerns from residents, families, and staff with empathy and professionalism.

 

 Focus on Quality and Safety: 

  • Lead a rigorous Just Safety Culture with accountability, empathy, and transparency.
  • Review quality data to identify safety, infection control and regulatory trends to improve nursing practices.
  • Collaborate across teams by working closely with other departments and community partners to enhance resident care and create opportunities for staff development.

 

Team Leadership and Development: 

  • Empower your team: Hire, mentor, and support an exceptional nursing staff, fostering a culture of growth, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • Promote employee engagement by active listening and responding to concerns, and involving staff in decision making.  

 

Financial Stewardship: 

  • Manage budgets with precision by developing and overseeing department finances to achieve efficient and cost-effective operations.

Qualifications

Education

  • New York State RN License and Registration Certificate
  • BCLS certification
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing

Experience

  • Minimum of ten years of nursing experience with 5-7 progressive leadership experience in Nursing Administration with demonstrated effective leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Effective management skills necessary to organize direct and evaluate the activities of patient care off shift operations.
  • Ability to apply and utilize the balanced scorecard measures (customer service, financial, innovation and growth, and performance improvement).
  • Critical thinking and analytic skills necessary for problem solving and clinical decision-making.
  • Public speaking experience and the ability to deliver impactful presentations.
  • A collaborative spirit to build strong relationships with staff, residents,, families, and community members.

Salary Range:

$220,000.00/Yr. To $270,000.00/Yr.
